A dramatic and emotionally charged scene unfolded at the Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow bench on April 10, where a distraught woman stood on the roof in tears, threatening to jump. The case has now taken a new turn, with allegations of gang rape and forced religious conversion.
The woman, a resident of Gonda, has approached authorities demanding that an FIR be registered based on her complaint. She alleged that she was abducted on the pretext of marriage and subsequently subjected to sexual assault by multiple individuals.
According to her statement, she was repeatedly gang-raped, forced to undergo religious conversion, and coerced into marriage. She further claimed that she endured continuous physical and mental abuse during this period.
The woman said she later gave birth to a child but alleged that the accused persons refused to take any responsibility. She also accused several individuals, including a village head, of shielding the accused and threatening her with dire consequences if she pursued the case.
The situation escalated on April 10, when the woman reached the High Court premises in Lucknow and climbed onto the roof, alleging that she was being pressured to withdraw her complaint. In a shocking claim, she said her child was threatened with being thrown from the roof and was even dangled in the air.
Lawyers present at the scene intervened in time, preventing any harm to the child. The woman reportedly fainted amid the tension, prompting immediate action from court authorities. Security officials, including the Registrar (Security), ensured that both the woman and her child were brought to safety.
The victim has called for strict action against all those involved and demanded their immediate arrest.
The matter is being investigated by the police.
