Police officials said two accused have been arrested in connection with the case and sent to jail, adding that further investigation is underway.

An alleged assault on women following a minor dispute over honking has sparked outrage in Greater Noida, with protests erupting outside a local police station demanding strict action against the accused.

The incident occurred on February 14 in the Bisrakh area, where a group of men allegedly attacked the occupants of a car after the driver honked.

According to the complaint, the accused stopped the vehicle, forcibly dragged young women out and assaulted them in full public view, triggering anger among local residents.

Following the incident, several organisations staged a protest and surrounded the Bisrakh Police Station, accusing the police of laxity and demanding immediate arrests and stringent punishment for all those involved.

Police officials said two accused have been arrested in connection with the case and sent to jail, adding that further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend others involved in the assault.

Authorities have assured protesters that strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty.
