Kerala is likely to receive moderate heavy showers for the next four days aided by the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for 11 districts, except Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Alappuzha, on Saturday (July 4, 2026) where isolated heavy rain is expected.
According to a weather bulletin issued by the IMD on Friday, a low-pressure area lies over northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood. The associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height. It’s likely to become more marked during the next two days. An off-shore trough also runs from Maharashtra to the Karnataka coast. Under the influence of the system, isolated heavy showers will continue in the State for the next few days.
