YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) State spokesperson and former MP Gorantla Madhav has strongly criticised the coalition government for failing to protect government staff and police personnel.
Speaking at the party headquarters in Tadepalli, he condemned the alleged attack on forest officials by TDP MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy and his supporters, questioning why no arrests had been made. Mr. Madhav demanded that cases of kidnapping, attempted murder, and obstruction of duty be filed against the MLA, noting that only a diluted case was registered instead.
He called on the Ministers for Forests and Jana Sena Party chief K. Pawan Kalyan to issue a clear statement regarding the attack on forest staff and ensure the MLA’s arrest. “If Mr. Pawan Kalyan cannot safeguard his own department staff, he must resign,” Mr. Madhav said. He further criticised Mr. Pawan Kalyan for showing indifference, pointing out that forest officials had personally approached him, yet he displayed no concern. Mr. Madhav added that under the YSRCP government, police were empowered to act decisively, but the current administration had reduced them to “toothless snakes” through premature retirements, suspensions, denial of postings, and withholding of dues, forcing many officers to seek transfers or resign.
