YSRCP trying to distort SIT report on Tirumala laddu issue, says BJP leader

BJP chief spokesperson Valluru Jayaprakash has accused YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy of politicising sensitive religious issues and misleading the public.

The YSRCP leader’s comments on the Tirumala laddu issue were aimed at hiding facts, Mr. Jayaprakash said on Thursday.

“The YSRCP is attempting to distort the SIT report for political gain and divert attention from the allegations that surfaced during its tenure on Tirumala temple administration,” he said.

Mr. Jayaprakash also took exception to the comments made by Mr. Karunakar Reddy against Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, calling them “false and highly inappropriate.”

He dismissed claims that Jeeyar Swamy had acted under pressure, asserting that the religious leader holds a revered position among the devotees and cannot be influenced by political forces.

Accusing the YSRCP of repeatedly using religion and caste for political advantage, the BJP leader demanded that Mr. Karunakar Reddy withdraw his remarks and apologise to Jeeyar Swamy and the Hindu community.
