‘Anupamaa,’ written update, January 5, 2026: Pakhi grows closer to Diwaker as Prem’s mistake spark tension between Rahi and Prerna

The January 5 episode of ‘Anupamaa’ is filled with hidden agendas. Anupama tries to cheer up Leela and Hasmuk. Secrets are starting to build at Rajini’s house. At the same time, Pakhi is getting taken in by Diwaker’s charm, not realizing his real motives.

A small misunderstanding causes trouble between Rahi and Prem. It leads to significant drama with Prerna. Every character is inching closer to conflict. Even if things look calm on the surface.

Anupama worries as Rajini’s house hides secrets

Leela and Hasmuk bring tea for Anupama late at night. Anupama asks why they are still awake. Leela explains that they tried to sleep but decided to make tea instead. Anupama admits she truly needed it. As Leela and Hasmuk prepare to leave, Anupama stops them.

She asks why they are leaving so quickly. Leela says they still have work. Anupama senses something else. Hasmuk finally admits that they are having a hard time adjusting to the fast pace of life in Mumbai.

Anupama decides to show them the shooting set to lift their spirits. At the same time, a worry crosses her mind. She wonders if Bharti has already reached Rajini’s house.Bharti and Varun arrive at Rajni's place. She welcomes them warmly.

She mentions that she kept the guest list small to maintain privacy. She asks Bharti to go into the house and tells Varun to take her to her room. Varun avoids doing so. Instead, he asks the house helper to guide Bharti. He flatters Rajini, while she quietly looks at a file and thinks to herself that no one can snatch it away from her.

Pakhi falls for Diwaker while Varun rebels against Rajini

Pakhi is surprised to see Diwaker at the college reunion. She never expected him to show up. Diwaker talks to her about her marriage and divorce.

He assures her that she will never be alone because he will always support her. Pakhi slowly starts liking Diwaker. However, Diwaker has other intentions. He still thinks Pakhi is foolish. He plans to use her to get closer to Rahi.Prem gives a gift to Rahi which impresses her. The two share a happy and romantic dance. While Prerna watches them quietly from a distance. Elsewhere, Varun confronts Rajini. He blames her for ruining his life.

Rajini warns him and reminds him that Bharti is a good girl and close to Anupama. She orders Varun to follow her instructions.Varun hits back. He reveals that Prerna is staying with Anupama. He mocks Rajini for being unable to control her own daughter. Bharti overhears their argument. She steps out of her room, scared by the large house. Rajini immediately switches her tone and calms Bharti down.

Jealousy, lies, and late-night secrets shake relationships

Anupama and Preet miss Bharti. Bharti calls them. During the call, she notices a paper with Anupama’s signature.

She asks Anupama about it, making Rajini nervous. Anupama asks Bharti what is wrong. Bharti avoids the question and instead praises Anupama’s signature. Rajini feels relieved but decides she must be more careful. She worries Bharti could unknowingly become Anupama’s informer. Rajini then instructs Bharti to keep an eye on Varun.

Later, Pakhi asks Diwaker to stop staring at her and look at Mumbai instead. Diwaker flirts shamelessly.

He says his entire world is already in front of him. Pakhi blushes. Diwaker then notices Rahi’s picture.At the same time, Prerna struggles to sleep. Anupama talks to her, Prerna shares her dream of opening a restaurant under Anupama’s guidance. Anupama agrees to help her. Rahi notices Anupama spending time with Prerna and feels uneasy. Prem is also unable to sleep. Rahi fumes quietly. Prem assumes Rahi is nearby and mistakenly hugs Prerna instead.

Rahi walks in at that exact moment.Prem immediately explains that it was a misunderstanding. Prerna, however, twists the situation. She claims Prem had called her to meet him. Rahi gets furious. Prem urges Prerna to tell the truth. Prerna admits she was joking. Rahi warns her firmly. She says jokes have limits. And boundaries must be respected. Prem adds that if Prerna cannot manage her own relationship, she should at least respect others’.
