National Youth Day observedMany schools observed the National Youth Day, marking the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. At the Surendranath Centenary School, its art and culture club celebrated the day with great enthusiasm, and students were dressed as Swami Vivekananda to deliver his famous Chicago speech, followed by recitations and a group song.

Cambrian Public School, Kanke Road, took up a series of activities to highlight the life, teachings, and ideals of the revered spiritual leader on the day. Principal Paramjit Kaur said, “Swami Vivekananda’s values and principles still hold great relevance in today’s world.” At the Narbheram Hansraj English School in Jamshedpur, the celebration was aimed at inspiring the students to imbibe the ideals of Swami ji.

Paramita Roy Chaudhary, the school’s principal, emphasized that education should not only impart knowledge but also build character and confidence among the students.Road safety monthAn awareness workshop on road safety was organised at the Surendranath Centenary School on Jan 11 as part of the National Road Safety Month in the wake of the rising road accidents after the huge increase in the number of vehicles.

Ranchi traffic DSP Pramod Kumar Keshari addressed the students and staff, sharing vital tips on safe driving and traffic discipline. The DSP emphasised the wearing of helmets and seat belt usage, speed control, strict adherence to traffic rules and avoiding mobile phone use while driving.Silver jubileeBridgeford School marked 25 years of its establishment with a special programme titled ‘Silver Spectacle’ on Jan 11. Rajya Sabha deputy chairman Harivansh attended the event as the chief guest, while minister of state for defence Sanjay Seth and Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal attended as special guests. The programme featured cultural performances and a Ramayana presentation — Dharma–The Unbroken Line.(Team TOI)
