The process for recruitment of 32 doctors to regional hospitals under Singareni was initiated. Vacancies for doctors and paramedical staff would be filled by March 2026. A decision on allotment of housing plots for retired employees of Singareni would be taken after discussion by Boards, said Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
Responding to questions raised in the ongoing Winter Session of the Assembly on Tuesday (January 6, 2026), Mr. Bhatti spoke about healthcare facilities, impact of private players winning Singareni coal blocks in auctions, measures for survival and welfare of the employees including ₹1 crore accidental insurance.
He said that the process to recruit 176 paramedical staff is underway. A contract to set up a Cath Lab under PPP model at Ramagundam was already awarded and it would be inaugurated in 75 days
Expressing concern that due to the new policies being followed by the Central Government, coal blocks in the State are being auctioned instead of being directly allocated to Singareni, allowing private agencies to enter the sector.
He said that in the past, Singareni lost certain coal blocks due to non-participation in auctions. However, after the Congress government came to power in the State, Singareni was encouraged to participate directly in auctions, enabling it to secure some coal blocks.
He pointed out that private companies are currently supplying coal in the market at prices lower than that of Singareni coal, and consumers naturally prefer to purchase coal at lower prices. This situation, he said, is impacting Singareni’s coal sales.
A high-level meeting would be convened within ten days of the conclusion of the Assembly session to discuss measures required for the survival of Singareni and the welfare of its workers. The meeting will include ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs from the Singareni region, along with the CMD and directors of the organization.
