 Mohanlal's Onam release mints Rs 13.5 crores

Mohanlal's latest Onam release, 'Hridayapoorvam', is a heartfelt family drama that reunites the superstar with veteran filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad after a decade and has been winning praise for its warmth and soulful performances.

At the box office, the film has registered an impressive start, collecting an estimated Rs 13.5 crore in its first five days.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, 'Hridayapoorvam' opened with Rs 3.25 crore on Thursday, followed by Rs 2.5 crore on Friday. Collections picked up over the weekend, with the film earning Rs 3 crore on Saturday and Rs 3.7 crore on Sunday, with a strong word-of-mouth and festive footfalls. On Monday, the film saw a sharp dip to Rs 1.05 crore, which is common after the holiday weekend.

The total collection comes to Rs 13.5 crore domestically.

About the film

The film revolves around Mohanlal as Sandeep Balakrishnan, a heart transplant survivor who attends the engagement of his donor's daughter, Haritha, played by Malavika Mohanan.Alongside Mohanlal, the movie also stars Malavika Mohanan, Sangeeth Prathap, Sangita Madhavan Nair, and Siddique. Every member of the cast has been widely appreciated for their performance. Further, the film's music is composed by Justin Prabhakaran, and the cinematography is done by Anu Moothedath.
