'Ilhan Omar lying': ICE says 'zero record' of her son being pulled over; 'We don't judge by color'

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement called Minnesota Rep Ilhan Omar a liar for alleging that her son was pulled over by federal agents. The ICE said the agency has absolutely zero record of its officers or agents pulling over Congresswoman Omar’s son.

Calling it a PR stunt, the ICE said Ilhan Omar's allegation did not come with any evidence. The agency also addressed the fine print of the allegation and said they don't target people by skin color, race or ethnicity. "Allegations that ICE engages in ‘racial profiling’ are disgusting, reckless and categorically FALSE. What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is if they are illegally in the U.S.—NOT their skin color, race, or ethnicity.

Under the Fourth Amendment of the US Constitution, DHS law enforcement uses “reasonable suspicion” to make arrests," the agency said. In a recent interview, Ilhan Omar said her son was pulled over by ICE agents and was asked to show his proof of citizenship. His son had his passport as he always carries this and he was let go, Ilhan Omar said adding that this was not the first time that her son was targeted. ICE once entered a mosque where her son was praying and since then her son always keeps his passport with him.

"They are looking for young men who look Somali that they think are undocumented," Ilhan Omar said.After Ilhan Omar's allegation, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said ICE acts with the “utmost professionalism.” “Anyone pointing the finger at law enforcement officers instead of the criminals are simply doing the bidding of criminal illegal aliens,” she said in a statement. But now ICE has refuted the incident. The Somali-origin Congresswoman became a US citizen in 2000 but now calls for deporting her getting louer as President Donald Trump said Ilhan Omar gained US citizenship by marrying her brother. Omar dismissed the rumors long ago and asserted that none of her three husbands is a brother. As the administration is cracking down on the Somali population in Minnesota, Ilhan Omar said it is creepy and disturbing that Trump is obsessed with her and other Somalis in the US.
