Dimapur: Open recruitment for 144 constable posts in Nagaland Police, allotted for Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland districts, will be conducted from Jan 7 to Jan 13.Briefing the media at the Chumoukedima police complex on Tuesday, Dimapur commissioner of police Aotula T Imchen said the entire exercise would be carried out in a transparent, fair, and merit-based manner.Imchen said 3,377 applications were received for the posts. A six-member screening committee has been constituted to oversee the process and ensure fairness at every stage.The recruitment began with document verification on January 5 and 6, followed by physical standard tests, medical fitness examinations, and physical efficiency tests scheduled from Jan 7 to 13. Each stage, she clarified, will be a disqualifying stage.Highlighting transparency, Imchen said all components of the recruitment process are being conducted under CCTV surveillance, with standardised score sheets being used. Candidates are required to carry their admit cards and valid identity cards on the day of their tests, and any malpractice will lead to immediate disqualification.She further stated that the department is committed to selecting disciplined and capable candidates to serve the people of Nagaland, adding that results will be published publicly.
To ensure fairness, a grievance redressal mechanism has been put in place, and representatives from civil society organisations will be present during the recruitment process. The written examination will be conducted after the completion of the physical and medical tests.
