The Boston Bruins have once again grabbed the headlines of the trade talks as the league’s season continues. Though the Bruins suffered an ugly 6-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild in their last game on December 14, 2025, they are still holding a spot at the NHL Power Rankings. The Bruins currently have a 19-14-0 record and are fourth in the Atlantic Division standings.

They are also only one point behind the Atlantic Division-leading Tampa Bay Lightning. As the Bruins are in the standings, it would not be very surprising if they looked to add to their roster this season. Speculations are doing the rounds that a new player has entered the trade market, which the Boston Bruins are planning to consider, and that’s Seattle Kraken’s winger, Mason Marchment.According to the NHL, Mason Marchment was traded to Seattle by Dallas for a 4th-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and a 3rd-round pick in 2026, June 19, 2025.

Earlier, Mason Marchment played three seasons with the Stars, helping them reach the Western Conference Finals.

NHL analyst drops hint on Boston Bruins eyeing Seattle winger Mason Marchment in a major trade move

An NHL analyst has recently dropped a hint about the Boston Bruins planning for a major trade deal, and this time, the team is eyeing Mason Marchment. With the Bruins already in the NHL power rankings, experts and analysts are discussing which player they should consider for trade, and speculations suggest that it could be Mason Marchment.

This could be clearly understood from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman’s analysis. In his most recent 32 Thoughts column, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman mentioned Marchment is being considered as one of the potential trade candidates. "It probably won’t happen until Jaden Schwartz returns, but keep an eye on Seattle’s Mason Marchment. He’s another one who had several pursuers that could revisit trading for him," Friedman wrote.

Considering his current NHL performance, Marchment could be a good fit for the Boston Bruins. Marchment is currently seen as the big top-six winger who contributes offensively and throws the body, and thereby, he could be a very solid player for the Bruins to add to their roster, and he would slot nicely on their second line, keeping in view their forward lineup.Meanwhile, the star winger in 27 games so far this season with the Kraken, Marchment has recorded four goals, 13 points, and 35 hits. This is after he posted 22 goals, 47 points, 79 hits, and a plus-15 rating in 62 games this past season with the Dallas Stars. He also recorded a career-high 53 points in 81 games for Dallas in 2023-24, so he would have the potential to be a strong offensive contributor for the Bruins if acquired. Also read: NHL match today: Will Sam Bennett play against Tampa Bay Lightning tonight?
