A nine-month intensive residential training programme for the 2025 batch of Stipendary Cadet Trainee Police Constables commenced on Monday (December 22, 2025) at the District Police Training Centre (DPTC) here. The batch consisted of 139 trainees, including 61 from Srikakulam and 78 from Vizianagaram district.

Interacting with the trainees, Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi stressed that policing is a service-oriented responsibility rather than just a job. He said that the training period would remain crucial for shaping their careers and expressed his desire for the batch to emerge as the best in the State.

Speaking to the media, the SP said that the office of the Director General of Police (DGP) had issued the updated training curriculum, focusing on physical fitness, drill, weapon handling, legal studies, ethics, discipline, and community policing to address evolving crime patterns and modern challenges. Medical examinations of the trainees were conducted on the first day to ensure physical and mental fitness, Mr. Dudi said.

The SP highlighted the importance of discipline, punctuality, and commitment, urging trainees to remain field-ready to respond to law and order issues, emergencies, and disasters. Senior officers, including Additional SP (Operations and In-charge Administration) S.R. Rajashekar Raju, Deputy SP T. Sainath, and other police officials, were present.
