This praise follows a series of social media exchanges between the director and the actress who would be making a comeback into Indian cinema with his magnum opus, 'Varanas' opposite Mahesh Babu. On November 12, 2025, SS Rajamouli had unveiled a new poster of 'Varanasi' introducing Priyanka Chopra as 'Mandakini'. Welcoming the "Desi Girl" back to Indian screens, the director praised her global impact and teased that her character, Mandakini, possesses hidden depths that will surprise the audience.

Speaking about the film, ‘The Bluff’, Priyanka Chopra plays Ercell Bodden, a former pirate known as “Bloody Mary.” She now lives a quiet life in the Cayman Islands with her husband, son, and sister-in-law.

Her past looks buried, but not for long. The trailer shows how her calm life is disrupted when old enemies return. Ercell is forced to face her past and fight again to protect her family.

Priyanka Chopra will be seen in the upcoming magnum opus ‘Varanasi’ playing the female lead opposite Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu. The movie features her playing Mandakini. Her first look, unveiled in November 2025, shows Mandakini in a dramatic yellow saree, wielding a gun. SS Rajamouli welcomed her back as the "Desi Girl" who redefined Indian cinema globally.

The project also features Prithviraj Sukumaran as antagonist Kumbha and is set for a 2027 release.Interestingly, it is believed that a special update may come on March 26, 2026.
