Rajasthan horror: Drug addict son kills mom in Jodhpur

JODHPUR: A 47-year-old man allegedly strangled his elderly mother to death in a village under the Banar police station area in Jodhpur Monday, with preliminary investigation pointing to drug addiction as the motive.The accused reportedly lay beside the body after committing the crime and later confessed when police reached the spot. Police identified the accused as Omprakash Jat and the victim as his mother, Parmudi Devi (75). According to officials, Omprakash first assaulted his mother and then strangled her using a rope inside their house. At the time of the incident, only the mother and son were present at home. The crime came to light when Omprakash's son, Surendra, returned home and found the main door locked from inside. After repeated calls and knocking went unanswered, he entered the house through the terrace of a neighbouring building.

Inside, he found his grandmother lying dead on a cot, while his father was lying on another cot nearby. tnn
