A retired Assistant Commissioner of CGST and Customs, Kuna Ramrarao, joined the Congress in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Y.S. Sharmila Reddy, at a meeting organised in Vijayawada, according to a press release on Saturday.
A native of Balada village in Kotturu mandal of Pathapatnam, Mr. Ramarao worked in the Central government office for the last 30 years in various cities and was inducted into the party following suggestion from Srikakulam youth Congress president Pudi Kiran Kumar
Speaking to media, Mr. Ramarao said that he had chosen to serve the people through the Congress party, which had developed Srikakulam by introducing various projects, including the Vamsadhara irrigation project. He thanked Mr. Kiran Kumar for making the arrangements to join the national party in the presence of Ms. Sharmila.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kiran Kumar said that the Congress would get back to its former glory in the district as many leaders of other parties were keen to return to their fold.
