Vikram Prabhu's courtroom drama 'Sirai' has achieved remarkable success, earning over Rs 31.58 crore against a Rs 3 crore budget. Despite a quiet release, positive reviews and word-of-mouth propelled the film to become a commercial hit. The movie, featuring strong performances from its cast, is now set for its OTT premiere on ZEE5 from January 23rd.
Actor Vikram Prabhu's courtroom legal drama titled 'Sirai,' launched under the direction of Suresh Rajakumari, became one of the winning movies of this season. Even though it was started on a small scale with zero promotion on its release day of December 25, the 'Sirai' movie managed to gather momentum at the box office through positive critics' reviews and positive audience word of mouth.
From a poor start at the box office, he soon hunted up the best figures and became a good example of a simple piece of art of good quality, which can also contribute to high commercial revenue.
'Sirai' box office numbers announced by the makers
The producers of 'Sirai' have officially stated that the sum was above Rs 31.58 crore that was the worldwide theatrical release earnings. From a budget of Rs 3 crores, the highest earnings of Rs 31.99 crores have now been achieved. The earnings in Tamil Nadu are Rs 27.27 crores, while in Kerala and Karnataka it is Rs 0.31 crore and Rs 1.05 crore respectively.
Overseas it is at Rs 2.95 crores. The producers were very grateful to the fans for their support, which led to the monumental success of the film, and also thanked them for their continued interest in the movie.
Strong performances from Vikram Prabhu and the other cast
Apart from Vikram Prabhu in the lead role, 'Sirai' has LK Akshay Kumar in a key role and features Anishma Anilkumar and Anantha in supporting roles. Anishmas plays the love interest of Aksy Kumar, and Anantsha is paired alongside Vik Ram Prabhus.
LK Akshay Kumar is the son of S S Lalit Kumar, the producer of the film. The actors have been given credit for their quietly powerful performances in the courtroom sequences that are filled with high emotion.

'Sirai' set for OTT debut
‘Sirai’ is a debut film for director Suresh Rajakumari, who is an associate of the famous Vetrimaaran. Tamizh, who has scripted the film “Taanakkaran,” has written the script for the film and was also responsible for the signing along with Sureshi Rajakumer. The music for 'Sirai' was done by Justin Prabhakaran. Madesh Manickam did the cinematography, while the editing was by Philomin Raj. Stunt designer Prabhu has done the action scenes.
After successfully getting screened on the big screen, ‘Sirai’ will be available on ZEE5 from 23 January.
