 Jharkhand High Court extends stay on Kailash Kothi demolition; Ownership claims under scrutiny by district administration

Ranchi: The Jharkhand high court on Monday extended the stay on demolition of Kailash Kothi, a property situated on the premises of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims).

A division bench of Chief Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice Rajesh Shankar were hearing a petition filed by one Khushbu Singh claiming ownership of Kailash Kothi.Singh has moved before the high court after the district administration issued a notice of eviction and demolition of the structure. The administration has been carrying out drive to remove encroachments from the Rims campus in compliance of orders passed by the HC.Singh has produced documents to show ownership of the structure before the high court. She has also mentioned that the property was never acquired by Rims and no compensation has been paid.The court has directed the DC to verify the documents presented by Singh.
