Tragic Bonfire Incident: Two women die from burns while trying to keep warm; victims fell asleep near the fire in Dumka village

Dumka: Two women died after sustaining severe burns while trying to keep warm around a bonfire at Fitkoria village in Dumka on Sunday night. The deceased are Meghiya Devi (65) and Brihaspatiya Devi (55).

According to local residents, the incident occurred around 10 pm, but the family informed the police on Monday afternoon. Police have taken the bodies into custody.Officer-in-charge of Muffasil police station, Satyam Kumar, said preliminary investigation revealed that the women were sitting near a bonfire and may have fallen asleep. “Their clothes likely caught fire, leading to death,” he said.
