US President Donald Trump said Iran’s leaders have reached out to negotiate, saying they are tired after pressure from the United States. He said a meeting is being arranged, but warned that the US may still act if developments before the talks require immediate action.

Trump said, “They called to negotiate. Yesterday, the leaders of Iran called. They want to negotiate. I think they’re tired of being beaten up by the United States. We may meet with them. I mean, a meeting is being set up, but we may have to act because of what’s happening before the meeting. But a meeting is being set up."

Earlier, Trump said that military strikes against Iran are being considered after reports that protesters have been killed during ongoing anti-government demonstrations.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump was asked whether Iran had crossed the “red line".“They’re starting to. There seem to be some people killed," Trump said. He added that the situation was being taken seriously by Washington.
