The Congress leaders said that in a democratic system governed by the rule of law, authorities are duty-bound to inform family members whenever a person is taken into custody and ensure transparency regarding the individual’s status and location. Questioning whether Sai Krishna was alive, they demanded that he be produced before his family immediately if he was in police custody.

If Sai Krishna was no longer alive, the party demanded a detailed explanation of the circumstances surrounding his death, accountability from those responsible, and adequate compensation for the bereaved family. Even if Sai Krishna was facing criminal cases, no individual could be denied legal protection, they said, adding that determining guilt or innocence was the responsibility of the courts and not the police.

Reiterating their demand for immediate disclosure of Sai Krishna’s whereabouts, access to legal counsel, and strict adherence to constitutional safeguards governing arrest and detention, the Congress leaders warned of a sustained agitation if their demands were ignored.

Congress leaders L. Eswara Rao, Kolanukonda Shivaji, Shaik Khursheeda, Naraharasetti Narasimha Rao, Meesala Rajeswara Rao and others were present.
