New Delhi: Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to be unveiled in September 2026, and they could bring some of the biggest hardware changes to the iPhone in years. The upcoming Pro models might feature fresh colour options, a smaller Dynamic Island, improved camera hardware, a larger battery, and much more. One of the expected notable features includes a wider range of colours. Apple’s shift from aluminium to titanium in recent Pro models has been reported to make it easier to unveil more colour finishes.

Apple has recently stated that it is exploring three new colour options for iPhone 18 Pro by including brown, purple, and burgundy. In addition, that black variant might still not be offered, if these plans move toward, the iPhone 18 Pro lineup could appear more colourful than earlier versions. Since its unveiling in 2022, Dynamic Island might have shrunk slightly. Since it was unveiled in 2022, its size has mostly stayed the same. Apple might shift some Face ID components beneath the display, which could reduce the cutout area.

Apple is preparing to introduce a wider aperture for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro, although the exact details have not been shared yet by any sources. This could enable better control over depth and improved flexibility while shooting in daylight. This system would physically adjust the lens opening. It could be widened in low light for more brightness and narrowed in bright scenes for better exposure, while also improving natural background blur, by reducing the reliance on software-based portrait sensing.

iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to house a 5200mAh battery, combined with efficiency improvements from Apple’s modem and the latest generation Apple Silicon, battery performance could see noticeable gains. The reports suggested that the iPhone 18 lineup is expected to use Apple’s C2 modem across all models. The latest modem is stated to be more power-efficient, which could help to improve battery life without increasing battery size. The C2 modem might support satellite-based 5G data by extending connectivity beyond basic text messaging when outside the cellular coverage.

In the latest iPhone generation, Apple is expected to unveil upgraded silicon. iPhone 18 Pro models feature the latest A20 Pro chip, which could be built using a 2nm process for the first time, potentially bringing better performance and improved efficiency. Apple has also been reported to unveil the latest N2 networking chip and to debut the N1 chip in the iPhone 17 lineup.
