Day One of BioAsia 2026 saw a clutch of firms announcing projects in Telangana, from an animal vaccine manufacturing facility to expansion of an innovation hub focussed on AI driven health and Life Sciences analytics.
Together, the projects announced in the presence of Chief Minister A.Revanth Reddy are expected to generate several thousand jobs. The investments proposed on the facilities were not, however, specified by most of the firms.
French global consumer healthcare company Opella Healthcare, spun off from Sanofi, said it is expanding its Hyderabad GCC operations in a 42,000 sq. ft. facility. The move will create up to 500 jobs within the next year, it said.
Vaksindo Animal Health, a division of Indonesian multinational JAPFA, said it is establishing a BSL-3 vaccine manufacturing facility in Genome Valley. The facility will focus on producing vaccines for poultry, cattle, swine, and aquaculture and generate about 300 jobs.
AI and data science company Tredence Inc said it is expanding its India operations with the launch of a new 20,000 sq. ft. delivery and innovation centre in Nanakramguda, Hyderabad. It will be a dedicated innovation hub focused on AI-driven healthcare and life sciences analytics and support its global operations.
Tredence said more than 400 employees are already working in Telangana and that it plans to grow the workforce to over 2,200 by 2027. The hiring push will see about 700 new roles added in 2026, followed by another 1,100 positions the year after. Chief Technology Officer and co-founder Sumit Mehra said “our expansion announcement represents a strategic investment in the city’s robust data and AI talent landscape and as well as its rapidly evolving retail, CPG and consumer GCC ecosystem.”
Another project, announced at BioAsia, was by Rx Propellant to develop a new, large-format Life Sciences campus in Genome Valley. The project will comprise over 1 million sq ft of advanced laboratory infrastructure across 12 acres of site delivered in phases over next six years. The estimated investment will be ₹1,000 crore and 5,000 jobs are likely to be generated.
