“No beads, no sequins, no embroidery!” announces Seena Sharath of Alappuzha-based Sreekumar Textiles in an Instagram reel promoting the enterprise’s ‘NEET exam co-ord sets and tops’.

In the post, which has racked up over four lakh views, she holds up pastel “protocol” tunics in pink, green and white with matching pants, highlighting sizes up to XXL, and urging students to buy quickly rather than order online. “There’s no time, and we will also run out of stock,” she says, with a sense of urgency.
