Private bank staff killed by speeding biker in Bengaluru

A 27-year-old woman working at a private bank was killed after being hit by a speeding motorcycle near Dr. Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar on Monday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Yogeshwari, a resident of Kempegowda Layout near Laggere.

According to police, the accident occurred around 12.30 p.m. near the bank where she worked. Yogeshwari had stepped out with a colleague for lunch. The two were crossing the road when the incident took place.

Police said the colleague noticed the oncoming bike and stopped midway. However, Yogeshwari reportedly attempted to cross the road, believing she could make it across safely, and was hit by the speeding motorcycle.

Due to the impact, Yogeshwari was thrown onto the road and sustained grievous injuries. She was rushed to a private hospital, where she succumbed.

The bike rider, Deepan, 21, fell from the motorcycle and sustained injuries. He is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

The Rajajinagar Traffic Police have registered a case.
