Shortly after ejecting from his aircraft before being rescued by special forces, a U.S. F-15 pilot witnessed what initially appeared unrealistic to his eyes: Multiple Iranian drones hovered in the air, with the pattern resembling a jellyfish.

The pilot was rescued after being shot down over Iran in April, which, according to U.S. President Donald Trump, was “one of the most daring search and rescue operations in U.S. history".

The account was shared by the pilot with intelligence officials during a debriefing following the rescue operation, CNN reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The unusual sight has sparked a discussion within the U.S. intelligence community, with experts scratching their heads over a possible explanation.

‘Real Alien Sh*t’

If the airman really saw what he described –– multiple Iranian drones moving in a pattern that looked like a jellyfish –– it signals the advancement of Tehran’s drone capabilities. That too, at a time, when Iran remains engaged in intense peace negotiations with the U.S. to end the war in West Asia. 

“Multiple drones interconnected and moving as one with smaller drones below the bigger drones like legs," one of the sources told CNN, adding it was “real alien sh*t".

Another sources revealed that the F-15 airman described having seen a “minefield of drones". Stunned by this revelation, one of the officers conducting the debrief said something to the effect of: “Are you sure you saw what you are saying you saw?" another source told CNN. 

Iran Downed An U.S. Aircraft

The F-15 –– carrying a crew of two members, including the pilot and a weapons system officer –– was downed by Iran in April, marking the first time a U.S. aircraft was downed over Iran during the conflict.

While the pilot was rescued hours after the incident, the weapons officer evaded Iranian capture in the mountains. Later, he was also rescued by forces.

At present, Iran and the U.S. have initiated a 60-day window for talks as part of a ceasefire that was announced last Wednesday. The talks focus on the toll-free reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, achieving an agreement on Iran’s nuclear programme, and a framework to allow the lifting of U.S. sanctions on Iran.
