Seaplane trials to Lakshadweep set to begin on May 13

Trial operations of the seaplane service to Lakshadweep islands from Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) will begin on Wednesday (May 13), subject to weather conditions.

Twelve trial runs are planned over three days, covering multiple island destinations to test feasibility and boost regional connectivity and tourism. A 20-seater twin Otter seaplane will operate on the Kochi–Agatti–Kalpeni–Kavaratti and Kochi–Kadmat–Kiltan–Agatti routes, CIAL said in a release on Tuesday (May 12).
