Tata Motors has launched the much-awaited Sierra EV in India at an introductory starting price of Rs 18.79 lakh, ex-showroom. Bookings for the electric SUV are now open, while deliveries are scheduled to begin from July 15.The Sierra EV is available in five variants: Pure, Pure S, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered A. It can be had with two battery pack options. The entry-level 63kWh rear-wheel-drive version starts at Rs 18.79 lakh, while the larger 75kWh battery is offered in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. The top-spec Empowered A AWD variant is priced at Rs 25.99 lakh. ex-showroom. Prices exclude the 7.2kW AC home charger and installation, which are available at an additional cost of Rs 49,000.

he Sierra EV offers a MIDC-certified range of up to 565 km with the 63kWh battery pack, while the larger 75kWh version claims 665 km on a single charge. Tata Motors says the SUV supports 120kW DC fast charging, allowing users to add up to 263 km of range in just 15 minutes. The Sierra comes with a lifetime battery warranty, which covers the battery for 15 years from the date of registration.The 63kWh and 75kWh rear-wheel-drive versions use a single rear-mounted electric motor, while the all-wheel-drive model adds a second motor, delivering a combined 504 Nm of torque.

Tata claims the AWD version can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.8 seconds with Boost Mode activated.The Sierra EV, depending on the variant, offers a triple-screen dashboard layout, HUD, digital key, Boss Mode, powered and ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, OTA software updates, and Summon Mode.

Audio duties are handled by a 12-speaker JBL Black sound system with Dolby Atmos, while V2L and V2V functionality are also part of the package.On the safety front, Tata has equipped the Sierra EV with six airbags as standard, Level 2 ADAS, auto park assist, electronic parking brake with auto hold, TPMS, ESP, ABS with EBD, all-wheel disc brakes, 360-degree camera, AVAS, and more. The AWD version also gets six terrain modes: Normal, Grass/Snow, Mud/Gravel, Sand, Rock Crawl and Custom.Other notable features include low-speed cruise control and a 540-degree camera featuring an underbody view to improve off-road capability.In terms of design, the Sierra EV closely resembles its ICE counterpart but features a few EV-specific touches. It gets a closed-off front fascia with a revised front bumper, while the side profile and rear design remain largely unchanged save for EV badgings.
