Two die in Hassan road accident

A man and his six-year-old grandson died and two others were injured when a car hit a motorcycle at Bittagowdanahalli near Hassan on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Jayanna of Goruru in Hassan taluk and his grandson Mithun Jai, 6. Jayanna was returning home on his motorcycle with his daughter-in-law and two grandsons after attending a programme at a friend’s house in Hassan when the car rammed the two-wheeler, injuring all four riders.

Mithun Jai succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital the same evening, while Jayanna died the next day, May 11. Jayanna’s daughter-in-law Rajani and his younger grandson Milan Jai, 4, sustained injuries in the crash.

Jayanna’s wife Muthamma has lodged a complaint with the Hassan Traffic Police, alleging that the car driver’s negligence caused the accident.
