Arizona, U.S.-headquartered medical device firm Align Technology plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Hyderabad with an investment of around ₹1,800 crore.
It will be the company’s first manufacturing site in India and fourth globally. The project is expected to create more than 300 direct jobs over the next several years, Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu’s office said after an MoU, for the facility, was signed by Align’s Senior V-P Jitse Marree and Telangana Life Sciences CEO Sarvesh Singh. The Hyderabad facility is expected to commence operations in 2027.
The company’s decision strengthens Telangana’s position as a leading global hub for advanced manufacturing and medtech innovation. Align Technology designs, manufactures and sells clear aligners, intraoral scanners and services and CAD/CAM software for digital orthodontics and restorative dentistry.
The senior leadership of the firm met Mr. Sridhar Babu and discussed the plans to establish the facility and Hyderabad’s talent availability, industrial infrastructure and policy environment. The facility has potential to become a key global manufacturing and operations hub and contribute significantly to the company’s worldwide production capacity of nearly 10 lakh unique clear aligner parts per day.
Enabled by large-scale 3D printing, advanced manufacturing systems and sophisticated digital technologies, it is expected to add substantial strategic value to Telangana’s rapidly growing MedTech and precision manufacturing ecosystem, the Minister’s office said.
Mr. Sridhar Babu said Align Technology’s decision to plan its India manufacturing presence in Telangana reflects the growing global confidence in the State’s strengths across medtech, Life Sciences, precision manufacturing and healthcare innovation. Hyderabad has steadily evolved into one of the world’s leading life sciences and healthcare ecosystems, supported by world-class research institutions, advanced manufacturing capabilities, strong digital infrastructure, and a highly skilled talent base.
