‘Anupamaa’ January 7 written update: Chawl's redevelopment starts behind Anupama’s back

Yesterday’s episode of ‘Anupamaa’ brought forth a lot of drama in the house as Rajni and Khyati try their level best to ensure that Anupama does not find out about the chawl redevelopment plans.

The scene shifts to Anupama coming to Rajni in order to get some advice. She asks her whether it's right for her to attend the event, to which Rajni replies with an encouraging smile that she should. As Anupama leaves town for the event, Rajni starts off with her plans. She calls the builder in to start the redevelopment project in the chawl behind Anupama’s back.

Prem and Rahi make preparations for their baby's homecoming

Anupama prepares to return home, and Prem and Rahi excitedly decorate everything to welcome the baby. Paritosh, however, tries to dampen the mood as he comments to Prem about how all of his expenses will rise after the baby comes. Bapuji, however, trumps his attempts and tells him that he has never taken responsibility for anything in his life, so how can he know?

Rajni and Varun celebrate the redevelopment plans, and Prerna comes to the Kothari house

The scene shifts again to Rajni and her son Varun, celebrating the success of Purvichaya’s redevelopment plan.

Beyond this, Prem and Rahi welcome Prerna and introduce her to the Kothari household; however, Motiba is not at all pleased to see her. Prerna jokes about the tense situation, calling the house a hostel and saying that Motiba seems to act like the warden. Later on, Mahi and Gautam confront Rahi and tell her that she should not trust Prerna so easily.

Gautam also threatens Rahi about Diwakar’s situation and his visit to Mumbai.

He tells her that he will tell everyone in the family about what happened and leaves; however, Prem reassures her that she should not worry about the situation so much. On the other hand, Anupama starts preparing meals for everyone as the family comes together again.

Anupama almost finds out the truth about the redevelopment

Anupama tries to call Rajni to tell her that her daughter, Prerna, is at the Kothari house. Rajni accidentally picks up her video call while she is talking to the builder about the redevelopment project.

However, before Anupama can hear something of significant concern, her phone runs out of power abruptly.

Diwakar finds his way into the Shah’s house

The episode ends at the Shah house, as Rahi’s teacher Diwakar appears there out of nowhere, with Pakhi standing along with him. This leaves both Rahi and Anupama. The next episode’s preview plays on, showing how Anupama tries to confront her daughter about the matter. Pakhi is not ready to listen to anything she has to say about Diwakar as she announces that he is going to be her son-in-law soon. She tells Anupama what right she has to interfere in her life, to which Anupama replies by saying that as her mother, she had every right to provide guidance and interfere.
