On a cold night in northern France, the 19-year-old Brazilian struck on his Lyon debut, ghosting in at the far post to seal a 2–1 Coupe de France win over Lille and send his new club into the last 16.

Lyon stunned Lille inside 49 seconds, when Afonso Moreira chased down a long punt and poked the ball past Arnaud Bodart for the fastest of starts.
