2026 already looks blockbuster as there will be a grand box office clash that cinema lovers will witness. After the massive success of Dhurandhar, the film’s sequel will hit theatres on March 19, the same date as the release of Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. While both movies are much anticipated, their release on the same date sets Indian cinema up to witness one of the biggest clashes of 2026.

Now, as the nation waits for the grand clash, ace filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has taken to his X account to share a note describing Dhurandhar 2 versus Toxic as the “ultimate clash between ultra-realistic cinema and ultra-unrealistic cinema."

Taking to his X account, RGV shared, “D is built on cause, leading to effect and consequence.

It reveals that violence has moral, psychological, and political foundations. The characters act because they must, not because they will look cool. Believes the audience is intelligent, whereas in T, style precedes logic. Violence exists to display attitude, not necessity.

T assumes the audience wants stimulation, not emotional engagement like D. D respects grim reality. T sells fantasy dressed as seriousness. D unsettles. T tries to impress.

D’s protagonist is human. T’s protagonist is born bulletproof. D speaks in silence.

T shouts. #Dhuroxic on March 19th will answer many questions."

He further continues, and while asking if Aditya Dhar’s film will be able to manage to beat Toxic or not, said, “#Dhuroxic could mark the beginning of the end of hero worship, ushered in by the pan-India biggies from the south. #Dhuroxic can be a defining moment in cinema where the audience stops becoming devotees and scoffs at bulletproof masculinity, proving that they no longer want gods, but only relatable humans. OR IT CAN BE VICE VERSA…THAT ONLY GOD AND AUDIENCE WILL KNOW."
